The finalists for The Great EIS 25th Anniversary Awards have now been announced and we are pleased to share that we have been shortlisted in the 'Outstanding Contribution to Supporting Entrepreneurs by Mentoring, Education and Management Support’ category.
Besides raising capital from our network of investors, a much more valuable element of the service we offer to our investee and portfolio companies is an ongoing support programme, from the moment terms are signed to the point that we exit the investment.
Our highly-experienced Investment team provide extensive input into, and often significant changes to, an investee’s business plan. This might involve bringing financial reporting and projections into line, educating management on how to refine their proposition, and coaching founders on how to present to investors.
Also at the heart of our support and mentoring programme is our panel of sector experts – a select group of industry veterans and experienced entrepreneurs that work with our fundraising businesses to help them negotiate the challenges of growth. Every investee business will have at least one Growthdeck expert working alongside them, often as a non-executive director, who will provide mentoring, access to contacts and much more.
Our expert panel includes Hugh Clark (of the Clarks shoes family), Steve Robinson (whose past roles include Argos CFO and Tesco Direct CEO), Stephen Thomas (founded Luminar Leisure, which became the largest nightclub operator in the UK), and David Harding (former CEO of William Hill).
We are delighted that our overall support and mentoring programme has been recognised and resulted in us being shortlisted for this award, particularly within the Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) sector.
This prestigious awards event is being held to celebrate 25 years of EIS, bringing together all the key players and partners in the industry at a banquet event on 20th June 2019.
