IFA Magazine and Estates Gazette have covered our appointment of Ceri Richards, previously Chief Investment Officer at Laing O'Rourke, the UK’s largest privately-owned construction company.

Ceri – who has also held senior investment roles at BNP Paribas, HBOS and Lloyds Banking Group – has joined the Growthdeck board as a non-executive director.

In her most recent position at Laing O’Rourke, Ceri managed their Public Private Partnership portfolio, which included raising debt and equity finance for major infrastructure projects, and subsequent marketing and exit from those investments. Ceri was also a member of the Strategy Committee and she was part of the small team that led the 2016 restructuring of the business.

At the beginning of her career, Ceri spent 11 years with BNP Paribas, working her way up to become the Head of the bank’s Public Sector Team in the UK. Whilst there, Ceri was an integral part of the bank's early entry into financing public projects.

After BNP Paribas, Ceri moved to HBOS, where she was Managing Director of Specialised Finance and, following the merger, held the same role at Lloyds Banking Group. Whilst at Lloyds, Ceri was responsible for the bank's corporate real estate business, managing 400 people and assets in excess of £40bn.

Ceri comments: “I hope to put my experience in the banking sector and in corporate finance and investments within a large corporate to good use at Growthdeck. It’s an exciting time to be part of the team.”

Gary Robins, our Head of Business Development, comments: “Ceri’s extensive insight, gained from leading the due diligence of individual investment opportunities and managing complex investment portfolios, will be invaluable as we continue to grow. Her broader expertise in areas such as strategy is also going to be invaluable.”

“The addition of Ceri to our board further strengthens what is already a very experienced and diverse group of industry veterans.”
