We are excited to announce that Growthdeck is a finalist in the ‘Most Impactful Investment’ category at the prestigious Growth Investor Awards 2022.
In June 2021 we raised £4.3m (structured as EIS-qualifying equity and mezzanine debt) for a new bar group — Maven Leisure Limited.
This new business, headed by the management team behind the highly-successful hospitality business ETM Group, was setting out to open at least seven premium venues in central London supported by this funding.
We raised the full £4.3m in only seven days, at a time when Covid was causing havoc for the hospitality industry and when bank lending to the sector was at rock bottom.
The company recently opened the doors to its third venue (Goldwood) and has a strong pipeline of potential new sites, with the remainder of 2022 representing a clear opportunity for Maven to continue to increase its visibility in the market with the continued return to offices.
We are proud to be playing a part in the growth of this exciting business, both in terms of finance provision and wider ongoing support, and are delighted that this has been recognised by such a respected awards competition.
The Growth Investor Awards are bigger than ever this year, reflecting how far the industry has come in recent years, and the competition now has 28 different categories.

The awards will be celebrated with a gala dinner at the prestigious London Hilton Park Lane on the evening of 24th November.
