A huge congratulations to James Wrighton, our CTO, who completed the London Marathon 2022 in aid of MK SNAP, which does wonderful work providing education, life skills and work training for adults with learning disabilities and complex needs.

Not only did James exceed his £4,000 target, which will help this wonderful local charity, but he also achieved a personal best of 3hrs 19m.

James says his preparation involved "over 600 miles of training, 3 pairs of shoes (I wear them out fast) and many, many, many bags of Doritos Cool Original".

He was originally due to take part in the marathon in 2020 for MK SNAP but, when the pandemic set in, runners were given the option of doing a virtual race (completing the 26.2 miles their own way, in a location of their choosing) or postponing their entry. However, we are proud to say that James decided to go above and beyond for this amazing organisation: not only did he run the virtual edition, but he also vowed to take part in the public event on the streets of London too, and that’s exactly what he did…

MK SNAP was established in 1992 and has spent the last 30 years helping many vulnerable people in Milton Keynes and the surrounding area — people that are often left behind, ignored or abused by wider society. To find out more about the valuable work being carried out by this award-winning charity, take a look at the video below, or visit the MK SNAP website.

If you haven’t already made a donation, it’s not too late to show your support for James and MK SNAP over on his fundraising page.
