The Opportunity

In One Basket Limited (“the Company” or “the Group”), trading as “Yolk”, is changing the game for food and coffee on the go, offering upmarket sandwiches, salads and ‘better breakfast’ – conveniently and without a premium price tag. The Company has five profitable London sites, with three more due to open in H2 2023.

Press have described Yolk as “delicious” (Evening Standard), “winningly foodie” (Time Out) and “quality fast food” (City AM).

Yolk’s core value is quality. This is achieved by sourcing key ingredients from the best local suppliers, offering a concise ‘flavour-first’ menu and emphasising recipe and process design, with unusual techniques ensuring simplicity and consistency.

Since opening its first outlet at New Street Square in the City of London in late 2018, Yolk has grown average monthly revenues per outlet to more than £60k and achieved profitability across all sites. Having successfully navigated the Covid-19 pandemic, Yolk is positioned to capitalise on a disrupted market: rents have fallen, prime sites are available and more established chains remain on the defensive.

While initially focusing on the day trade for office workers, the Company’s flexible model can be adapted to different locations and customer types (tourists, residential, transport hubs, etc.), with extended opening hours and a new dinner menu helping to broaden Yolk’s appeal. Yolk also utilises the kitchens in existing outlets to cater to both office and home delivery markets through its own and third-party delivery platforms.

Yolk has raised £2.2m to date from angel investors. The Board is now seeking to raise £1.8m in equity funding at a pre-money valuation of £7.6m (c.£2.87 per share) to support the next stage of expansion across London. Growthdeck has secured up to £1.4m of this fundraise in C Ordinary Shares (with a minimum of £750,000). Completion is subject to the receipt of Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) Advance Assurance.
