Over the weekend our CTO, James Wrighton, participated in the virtual edition of the 40th London Marathon to help raise vital funds for a fantastic local charity, MK Snap.

When the pandemic set in, runners were given the option of taking part in a virtual race on October 4th (where they complete the 26.2 miles their own way, in a location of their choosing) or postponing their entry till next year. But we are proud to report that James is going above and beyond – not only has he run the virtual edition this year, but he is also planning to take part in the postponed public event in London in 2021.

James says:

“I completed the virtual marathon in 3hrs 33mins – a new personal best, plus a fantastic £3,000 raised for MK Snap. It was a wet, windy race, twice round Long Melford and Sudbury, but thankfully with few inclines. A massive thank you to everyone that sponsored me. Your money has gone to a wonderful charity, where it will touch the lives of many disabled and disadvantaged people. I can't think of a more deserving cause.”

“Fingers crossed that 2021 will see the marathon back on the streets of London, so I can do it all again.”

Established in 1991, MK SNAP provides life skills, education and authentic work training to vulnerable adults who have physical and learning disabilities. The charity does very valuable work and helps so many vulnerable people in the local area – people that are often left behind, ignored or abused by wider society.
