Yolk - Online 'Meet the Management' Event

Thursday, 8 June, 2023
from 12:30 pm

[Registered investors only]

In the UK, consumers are poorly served by identikit grab-and-go food chains, whose offerings lack flavour, quality and excitement.

Yolk is changing the game for food and coffee on the go: offering upmarket sandwiches, salads, ‘better breakfast’ and coffee, without a premium price tag.

The company applies Michelin-level equipment and techniques (such as sous vide and Thermomix) to simple food – which management believe is unique in this sector.

Yolk currently has five profitable outlets in Central London (Broadgate, New St. Square, Soho, Canary Wharf and London Bridge), with three new sites due in H2 2023.

The business is now seeking Series A funding – with up to £1.3m allocated to our network – to support the next stage of expansion across London. You can find out more about these growth plans at our online ‘meet the management’ session, taking place on Thursday 8th June at 12:30pm.

Please join the network or log in to watch the Webinar & Q&A Recording.

This will be a 15-minute presentation, followed by a Q&A session, with:

Nick Philpot (Founder and CEO), who previously worked as a Strategy Consultant at Monitor Deloitte, advising CXO-level stakeholders on growth and M&A. Nick launched Yolk as a pop-up in 2014, before opening the first permanent outlet at New Street Square in 2018. Since then, he has successfully navigated Covid and grown the business to five sites and a team of over 70 staff.

Peter Kolonics (Head of Operations), who has over 12 years’ experience with Le Pain Quotidien across the UK and Ireland. This includes time as an Area Manager, where he had responsibility for ten sites and annual turnover of £15m. Peter also oversaw 16 new store openings, and was retained to help rebuild the business from scratch following a rescue acquisition during Covid.

Kat Mead (Head of People), who has dedicated her 15-year career to hospitality, rising through operational roles such as Operations Manager at Planet Organic. She has deep experience from Learning & Development roles at Gordon Ramsay Holdings and Gather & Gather, and as Head of People at an independent restaurant group.

Eloise Holden (Head of Marketing), who has a background in hospitality and has spent over five years in senior brand and marketing roles. She helped to significantly grow the number of sites at Honest Burger, and was also a Marketing Manager at Bone Daddies Group, where she oversaw the growth of three separate sub-brands.
